KOCHI: Music director Shaan Rahman broke the silence in the financial fraud case over the musical night event in Kochi. Shaan Rahman responded that the complaint was a ploy to divert attention from the real issue and distort facts.
Shaan blamed Niju for deceiving him and confirmed he would take legal action. This came in a joint statement issued by the music director and his wife, Zaira Shaan.
"Niju Raj Abraham, the show director of a musical event organized by an event management firm and the complainant, is spreading false news to mislead the public and the media. The current allegations are a ploy to sabotage and covertly settle the case. "
The financial dispute and fraud case are related to the music night called 'Uyire' held in Kochi on January 23 by the music band Eternal Ray Productions, led by Shaan Rahman.
The organization of the 'Uyire Sangeetha Nisha' was taken over by Kochi-based event management company 'Arora'.. They covered everything from the event's production, accommodation, food, travel, parking fees, and even the amount to be paid to the bouncers.
In his complaint, Arora Company owner Niju Raj says that a total of Rs 34 lakh was spent on the event, while getting nothing back in return. Niju alleges that Shaan threatened to file fake cases to jail him. The Ernakulam South police have registered a case. There are other cases against Shaan for flying a drone in a restricted area and obstructing traffic on the road in connection with the event.
Meanwhile, the court directed Shaan Rahman, who approached the district court seeking anticipatory bail, to appear before the investigation team.
