Smart, beautiful and intelligent Nisha Jose Mani was the apt candidate, says Jayashankar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF leadership had yesterday announced the name of Jose Tom Pulikkunnel as the UDF candidate in the upcoming Pala by-polls after a hectic day of long discussions, suspense and uncertainty. P J Joseph’s firmness against the candidature of Nisha Jose, wife of Jose K Mani, and his stance that the symbol will not be given if she contests, turned successful. The name of Tom Jose was finalised after multiple rounds of talks with the UDF leaders.

Political observer and lawyer A Jayashankar has come forward responding on it.

Jayashankar in his Facebook post said the state who was awaiting her entry is disappointed now.

‘Nisha Jose K Mani was the best candidate to preserve the legacy of the great Mani Sir in Kerala politics and Kerala Congress. Intelligent, smart and beautiful Nisha Jose K Mani was the apt candidate. P J Joseph was against Nisha contesting polls. Finally, Tom Jose was announced the candidate’, he mentioned in the post.
