Murdered 13-year-old girl after sexually assaulting her, hands cut off; father arrested

WASHINGTON: In a shocking incident, a father brutally killed his 13-year-old daughter after sexually assaulting her. The incident took place in the United States. The charred body of the girl Keimani Latigue was found abandoned near a vacant building days before her 14th birthday. Police have arrested Darnell Jones (33), the girl's father.

According to Columbus Police Department Lieutenant Bryan Steel, the accused cut off his daughter's hands and strangled her to death after raping her. He described it as one of the most horrific cases that he had ever heard of.

Keimani had been staying with her grandmother. After she went missing, Jones appeared on local media, tearfully recounting the last time he saw his daughter. He claimed that she was alone at home when she called him, saying someone was attempting to break into the house. However, his statements were inconsistent, raising suspicion. When questioned by the police, Jones eventually confessed to the crime. Authorities apprehended him in Columbus, where he was found carrying a gun.

The girl's mother, Tiara Kasten, told the police that the girl went missing after Jones took her back to their house. When they checked Jones' house, they found it in disarray, with Latigue’s underwear near the sofa and pajamas on the floor in the dining room.

The post-mortem report revealed that Keimani Latigue died due to multiple wounds on her neck. The wounds were so severe that her neck was almost severed. Police officials described it as a very brutal murder.
