Crores seized from auto rikshaw in Kochi; two arrested

KOCHI: Around Rs 2.7 crore was seized from an autorikshaw in Wellington Island, Kochi. Investigations to determine whether it is black money is ongoing. The police have taken an interstate worker and an auto driver into custody in the incident. The police have taken the auto driver Rajagopal and a Bihar native Sabish Ahmed into custody.

The police say that they can clarify the incident only after conducting further investigation. The money was seized from an auto parked near the Kannangad bridge. There are indications that this was the money handed over by an establishment owner on Ernakulam Broadway. It is understood that they arrived with the money after being told to wait on the Wellington side.
