Temperature rising in Kerala, 12 districts on yellow alert

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking into account the rising temperature in the state, yellow alert has been issued in various districts for today and tomorrow. Temperature warnings have been issued for 12 districts.


30/03/2025, 31/03/2025: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the temperature will rise up to 39 degrees Celsius in Palakkad today and tomorrow. The temperature will rise up to 38 degrees Celsius in Thrissur and up to 37 degrees Celsius in Kollam and Kozhikode. The IMD has warned that the temperature may rise up to 36 degrees Celsius in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod.


Meantime, heavy rain will lash three districts on April 2 and 3. Considering this, a yellow alert has been issued for Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad on these dates. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in 24 hours. The IMD also predicted that all districts will receive light rain for five days from today.
