Modi praises Hanumankind and Joby Mathew, Vishu Greetings in Malayalam

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Malayali rapper Hanumankind and Joby Mathew, who won a gold medal at the Khelo India National Games. The praise was given through his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat. The Prime Minister also wished Malayalees a happy Vishu.

The Prime Minister began the 120th episode of Mann Ki Baat by greeting people on the occasion of Vishu and Eid in Malayalam. The Prime Minister mentioned Malayali rapper Suraj Cherukadu, also known as 'Hanumankind', while talking about the rise of traditional martial arts in the country. The video of Hanumankind's new song 'Run Eat Up' featured many Indian martial arts, including Kalaripayattu. Modi said that the song is getting a lot of publicity. More than 2.5 crore people have viewed the video so far. 'Run Eat Up' is at the second position in YouTube music trends.

Joby Mathew won gold in the 65 kg men's para powerlifting category at the Khelo India National Games by lifting 148 kg. The Prime Minister said that people like Joby are an inspiration. Joby, who is disabled, is a native of Aluva. The Prime Minister had earlier written to Joby congratulating him on his achievement.
