Vigilance arrests Tahsildar for demanding bribe to renew licence

KANNUR: Vigilance has caught a Tahsildar while he was taking a bribe at his house. Kannur Tahsildar Suresh Chandrabose was arrested. Vigilance caught him while he was taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 at his house in Kalliasseri to renew the licence of a firecracker shop. The firecracker shop owner informed Vigilance that Suresh had demanded a bribe. Vigilance then laid a trap. The officers arrived at the Tahsildar's house after the firecracker shop owner gave the money. After the inspection, it was found that the officer had accepted the money. Vigilance registered an arrest.
