THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K.B. Ganesh Kumar, the Transport Minister, has honored the commitment he made upon taking office. KSRTC employees received their full March salary on April 1st, marking the first time since December 2020 that salaries have been disbursed in full on the first of the month.
The salary payment was made possible by securing an 80-crore overdraft from the State Bank of India. KSRTC is expected to repay the loan once the government provides the necessary financial assistance. Additionally, the government has allocated 50 crores in two installments to support the salary distribution. The salary, which was being given in two installments, has been given together for the past eight months. However, it couldn't be given on the first of this month.
When the employees were notified that their full salary had been credited to their accounts on April 1st, many were initially skeptical, dismissing it as an April Fools' joke. However, after checking their accounts, they were pleased to confirm the payment was genuine.
