NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court will hear the monthly pay-off case involving Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan again. The action comes after Justice CD Singh, who heard the case earlier, had relocated. The hearing is being heard again on a petition filed by CMRL against the SFIO investigation. The bench of Justice Girish Kathpalia is hearing the case again. The case has been adjourned to July for a rehearing. The court rejected CMRL's request to stay further proceedings until then. Therefore, the SFIO can take further action.

The Kerala High Court had rejected the petition filed by the Vigilance to investigate the monthly pay-off case. The High Court rejected the petitions filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA and Girish Babu. The order was issued by the bench of Justice K Babu. The petition sought a vigilance investigation against the Chief Minister and his daughter in the large-scale financial transactions between Veena Vijayan's company Exalogic and the black sand company CMRL in Kochi.

The Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court had earlier rejected this demand. The petitioner, Girish Babu, died while the hearing of the petition was going on. Mathew Kuzhalnadan filed the petition, making Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others opposing parties. The argument was that Veena Vijayan used her status as Chief Minister's daughter to exact monthly payments from CMRL to Exalogic, and that this case merits Vigilance investigation.
