ALAPPUZHA: A big twist happened in a woman's complaint that 15 sovereigns of gold were stolen from her house. During the police investigation, it was found that the woman's husband took the gold. The complaint was that the gold was stolen from a cupboard in the house of Shamna Shefeek, a native of Alissery.

Shamna, an employee of the municipality aerobic wastewater treatment plant, came to know about the theft when she returned home after work in the afternoon. Shamna then informed the police. Based on this, a police team led by Alappuzha DYSP Madhu Babu reached the spot and conducted an investigation. This gave an indication that Shamna's estranged husband Shefeek had stolen the gold. Although the two were estranged, Shefeek would occasionally come to the house.
