NEW DELHI: CPM general secretary M A Baby once again came in favor of chief minister's daughter Veena Vijayan in the monthly payoff case. In an interview to a private channel, Baby opined that this is a case that arose because she is the daughter of CPM party leader. He said that is why they said that they would face the case politically and legally.
Veena's company conducted a transparent transaction. He said the central agencies have a stance of intimidating people who oppose them and hinted the actions against Prithviraj, Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan. Baby said Pinarayi is the most powerful leader in the organization after AKG and EMS and that he should lead the LDF in the upcoming elections as well. He alleged that a second liberation struggle is being launched against the state government.
Meantime, the Delhi High Court will consider CMRL's request to stay the prosecution proceedings in the monthly payoff case today. Further actions in the investigation report of Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO should be stopped. The demand is in the case where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan is among the accused.
Another plea by CMRL seeking quashing of ED and SFIO investigations is pending in the Delhi High Court. While hearing the plea, the high court had allowed the SFIO to continue the investigation but directed it not to submit the investigation report, according to the new plea by the CMRL (Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd). It has also been alleged in the plea that the SFIO investigation team leaked the report to the media.
