Salman Khan's film Sikander, which hit the theatres last month, has entered the 100 crore club at the box office. Now, actress Shreya Gupto, who played another important role in the film, shared an incident that took place during her nascent stage in the movie business.
In her brief career, Shreya had shared screens with Suirya and even superstar Rajinikanth. Her role in the 2008 film Vaaranam Aayiram was appreciated. In an interview with a national media outlet, the actress opened up about a movie casting in Chennai that went wrong.
Shreya Gupto:
“The unfortunate incident happened in Chennai in 2014. During those times, there were fewer agencies to help newbie actors link up with moviemakers. Everything was direct, so I packed my bags and went to Chennai with my mother to a director’s office. The producer of the movie was also in attendance. After some formal talks, the director took me inside his cabin. To my shock, he then asked me to sit on his lap. I was taken aback and didn’t know what to do. I was young during those times. Somehow, I mustered up the nerve and told him I was unprepared for the audition. I then stormed out of the cabin.
I never encountered such behaviour from film technicians in Mumbai.”
