MALAPPURAM: An elderly woman died after her house was attached by a bank in Ponnani. 85-year-old Mami, who had serious health issues died early Tuesday morning. The Palapetty SBI officials had attached her house on Monday evening. Mami's son Alimon had taken a loan of Rs 25 lakhs after pledging this house years ago. Her house was attached by the bank over non-payment of loan. Her family said Alimon had been missing for days and that she was worried over this.

The family is levelling serious allegations against the bank in connection with the death of Mami. 'When the officials arrived to attach her house, her health was very bad. Even the doctor treating her had spoken to the officials. They attached it despite asking 15 days’ time. Mami was shifted to a relative's house after that,' the family responded.
