Sheela, the evergreen actress of the Malayalam film industry, recently gave an interview to an online portal. This, in no time, went viral.
“I played the role of a girl from a tantric family in the movie 'Chaayam'. Later, rumours made their way, telling that I belonged to a traditional priestly Namboothiri family. My family is Syrian Catholic. I don’t know who spread the lies.
About Tamil movies:
“I didn’t like the role I got in Tamil. There was an attempt to picture me as a glamorous star. I had done bold roles in Malayalam, but the character weighed importance. For the same reason, people accepted me. Not even once I felt any humiliating incident from a Malayalam movie set.’ said Sheela.
The actress celebrated her 77th birthday last month. Sheela had revealed that she had prepared a will when she was 25.
“I have written down what should be done if I die. Even though I am a Christian, my body should be cremated. It is written in my will that the ashes should be thrown into the Bharathapuzha river," Sheela clarified.
