KOTTAYAM: BJP leader Shaun George has said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan will have to appear before the ED in the monthly payment case. Shaun said there is no longer any obstacle for the ED to proceed with the investigation, and a letter has been sent to the CBI seeking a probe.

'Evidence will be handed over as and when requested by the investigating agencies. The investigation will not be limited to the Chief Minister and Veena Vijayan. The transactions should also come to light,' demanded Shaun George.

Meanwhile, the CMRL petition seeking to stop the further proceedings of the SFIO in the monthly payment case has been referred to the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The High Court pointed out that the petition has no substance in the circumstances in which the SFIO has filed a chargesheet in Kochi. The case was referred to the Chief Justice for a decision after it was argued that Justice Subramaniam Prasad had given a verbal assurance that he would not file a chargesheet.

Justice Subramaniam Prasad will consider the case on April 22. There is no stay on the SFIO proceedings for the time being. Kapil Sibal appeared for CMRL and Additional Solicitor General SV Raju for the central government. The case has been pending in the Delhi High Court for about a year. The case was initially heard by Justice Naveen Chawla. Later, Justice Subramanian Prasad, then Justice CD Singh and now Justice Girish Kapthaliya have heard the case.
