Shibila murder case: Grade SI Noushad's suspension revoked

KOZHIKODE: The suspension of Grade SI Noushad of Thamarassery Police Station in connection with the Thamarassery Engapuzha Shibila murder case has been withdrawn by the Kannur Range DIG. The action was taken for failing to take action on Shibila's complaint before she was killed. However, Shibila's relatives had alleged that only Noushad was being made a scapegoat.

Yasir stabbed his wife Shibila to death on March 18. The violence occurred when Yasir came to return Shibila's documents and her daughter's clothes as agreed in the mediation. Yasir had stabbed Shibila's father Abdur Rahman and mother Haseena. The complaint filed by Shibila against Yasir was handled by Grade SI Noushad, who was in charge of the PRO at the station. The complaint was that Yasir, who used to use drugs, was threatening her. Action was taken against the Grade SI for failing to act on this.
