THRISSUR: The arrest of the youth, accused in the case of killing a six-year-old boy by pushing him into a pond, will be recorded today. The accused is 20-year-old Jojo, the boy’s neighbour. He will be produced in the court today.
The body of the boy is presently at a private hospital in Thrissur. It will be taken to Thrissur Medical College for postmortem. After postmortem, the body will be handed over to his relatives.
The boy went missing at 6:30 pm yesterday. The locals and his parents started an investigation. The boy’s body was later found in a pond near his house in the search conducted by the fire force.
Jojo was also in the search team. Jojo had tried to divert the investigation. He persuaded the police to search in other places. The police, who became suspicious, questioned him in detail. CCTV footage of him and the boy walking was found. The police said Jojo was involved in a crime during his childhood days.
‘Jojo took the child to a deserted place. He forced the child for unnatural sex and the latter resisted. When he said that he would tell his mother, Jojo said, go and say and then pushed him into the pond,’ the investigating officer said.
