CHERTHALA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan, who succeeded in implementing the messages of Sree Narayana Guru, is a communal leader who upheld secularism at all stages. He was inaugurating the Mahasangamam organized by Cherthala Union to honour Vellappally Natesan, who is completing three decades at the helm of the yogam.

"Vellappally is a leader who has instilled in his followers the courage to stand tall with pride. Vellappally Natesan's leadership achievements can be understood when we say that he has completed thirty years in the position where Kumaranasan remained for 16 years. It is rare for a person to complete three decades at the helm of an organization like the SNDP Yogam, which has contributed the most to the current growth of Kerala. Vellappally Natesan's work ethic and leadership skills have led to his continuous tenure as General Secretary. Along with the SNDP Yogam, he has also become the helmsman of the SN Trust. Vellappally Natesan is at the helm of two important historical missions."

"It is not easy to continuously gain and maintain the love and trust of society, and to show the energy to work in the way demanded by the ranks and the movement. That is what Vellappally did with ease. He did things in a better way one after the other. As the leader of an organization, he did not make any interventions that weakened that organization. He deserves special praise for being able to lead it to further growth."

"Kerala is number one in the field of public education. This is the result of interventions that fully incorporate the instructions of Sree Narayana Guru. Guru's goal was not only communal reform but also the comprehensive development of Kerala. While caste and religious hatred are dividing people in many parts of the country, Kerala stands apart. This is because the state accepted Guru's call to change the world without any caste differences. The same rise was achieved in the higher education sector and the industrial sector. That is why the government decided to establish an open university in the name of Guru. Guru's ideas that united everyone are gaining relevance," the Chief Minister said.

Vellappally's tongue has the address of Saraswathi

The Chief Minister praised Vellappally's tongue for having the address of Saraswathi. "He knows how to present things well. There have been some controversies recently. Vellappally has no history of taking a stand against any religion. Some things came out as part of his speech. What he said against a political party was misinterpreted as being against religion. He said against the political party based on reality. Those who were interested in protecting that party came against it. Vellappally should also be more careful in his speech. It is not because of any deficiency on his part, but because there is an attempt to distort something in the state," the Chief Minister added.
