KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has temporarily prohibited the Kozhikode Waqf Tribunal from issuing the final verdict in the Munambam land case. However, the court clarified that there is no restriction on continuing the hearings in the tribunal. The interim order was issued by a division bench comprising Justice Amit Rawal and Justice K.V. Jayakumar, based on a petition filed by the Waqf Board.
The case under consideration by the tribunal pertains to a challenge against the Waqf Board's order declaring the Munambam land as Waqf property. The High Court has also directed that notices be served to parties, including the management of Farook College. The petition will be considered again on May 26.
The Waqf Board approached the High Court after the Waqf Tribunal rejected its request to summon a previous verdict issued by the Paravur Sub Court.
