Sanju and Co fall short to Bengaluru; Rajasthan Royals' poor show continues

JAIPUR: Royal Challengers Bangalore are on the road to victory again after easily overcoming Rajasthan Royals. Chasing a target of 174 runs set by Rajasthan at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, RCB achieved the victory in 17.3 overs with the loss of just one wicket. Half-century performances by openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli made the victory easy. This is Rajasthan's fourth defeat in six matches.

Chasing a target of 174 runs, RCB got off to an explosive start with the openers scoring 92 runs in 8.4 overs before losing their first wicket. Phil Salt scored 65 runs off 33 balls with the help of six sixes and five fours. Kumar Karthikeyan got Salt's wicket. Virat Kohli scored 62*(45) runs and Devdutt Padikkal remained unbeaten on 40*(28).

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 173 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was the top scorer with 75 runs in 47 balls. Other scores were as follows: Riyan Parag 30 (22), Dhruv Jurel 35* (23), Sanju Samson 15 (19), Shimron Hetmyer 9 (8), Nitish Rana 4* (1). Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya got one wicket each.
