KOZHIKODE: The AP Sunni faction came forward justifying home delivery again. Senior leader Syed Saleh Turab Thangal spoke about home delivery during a religious talk in Perumanna. He also asked if there is a law in the country that demands deliveries in hospitals itself. Thangal said that no one should be afraid of the case and the police. Home births are their own convenience. People taking deliveries at home are blamed and those encouraging it are blamed. He added that this is a bad world.

A woman in Malappuram had recently died after delivery at home due to excessive bleeding. Asma (35), daughter of Ibrahim Musliyar of Perumbavoor had died recently. With this, there was a big awareness campaign against home births. This was Asma's fifth delivery. Her husband, Sirajuddin of Neerkunnam Siraj Manzil, Ambalapuzha, who was against his wife delivering in hospital, had been arrested by the police. A woman who helped Asma in her delivery was also arrested. The Malappuram police took Fathima of Othukungal, into custody.

Sirajuddin spreads superstitions through his YouTube channel Madavul Khafila. He has studied only till eighth standard but used his ability to instill superstitions in many people. He constantly heard speeches justifying deliveries at home.
