Woman roughed up at mosque following husband's strange complaint, six arrested

BENGALURU: A mob attacked a woman in an egregious incident after her husband approached mosque with a strange complaint. The husband filed a complaint against the 38-year-old woman following a family dispute.

The footage of the incident that took place in Bengaluru last week is now viral on social media. Shabeena Banu, the wife of Jameel Ahmed, was badly beaten up by the mob with impunity. On April 7, Shabeena Banu's relatives, Nazir and Fayaz, visited her at the house. Jameel Ahmed took offense over the incident as he didn’t like male relatives or friends visiting his wife.

Jameel rushed to the Juma Masjid in Tavarekere, Bengaluru, and filed a complaint against his wife and the youngsters. Later, on April 9, all three were summoned from the mosque. When Shabeena reached the mosque, six males brutally roughed her up.

After the footage of the incident came out, the police registered a case. It is learnt that the police have arrested six people who assaulted the woman. The arrested have been identified as Muhammad Niyaz (32), Muhammad Gauspir (45), Dastaghir (24), Chand Basha (35), T. R. Rasool (42) and Inayat Ullah (51). Police said they have been charged with conspiracy, assault, and attempted murder.
