1808 people checked in single day for drug trafficking in Kerala, 76 arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of Operation D-hunt, a special drive was conducted across the state on April 14, and 1808 people suspected of being involved in drug trafficking were checked. 70 cases were registered for possession of various types of prohibited drugs. 76 people were arrested. The police seized cannabis (1.254 kg) and cannabis bidis (57 pieces) from them.

Operation D-hunt was conducted on 14th April 2025 across the state to identify those involved in the storage and marketing of illegal drugs and take strict legal action.

There is a 24-hour Anti-Narcotics Control Room (9497927797) to receive information from the public about drugs and take action. The information of those who contact this number is kept confidential.

As part of strengthening the measures against drugs, the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell, NDPS Coordination Cell and Range-based Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell are functioning at the state level under the direct supervision of the ADGP, Law and Order.
