PALAKKAD: National award-winning singer Nanjiyamma met the Palakkad District Collector seeking an end to the land-grabbing case using forged documents. A written complaint was also submitted to the District Collector.

Despite evidence proving that Nanjiyamma owned the land, the defendants recently moved court, forcing the singer to seek the help of the district collector.

Nanjiyamma’s four-acre land was seized by a few using a fake tax receipt. The Agali court even ruled in favour of the singer in the case. Recently, the defendant approached the High Court again over the land dispute case. Nanjiyamma is currently in a fix, not even able to use her land for farming, which is her livelihood.

“The collector promised that everything would be solved. It is my land and I want it back. My children should live there.” Responded Nanjiyamma.
