KOCHI: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) is all set to expel actor Shine Tom Chacko. The action is after actress Vincy Aloshious revealed that Shine Tom Chacko misbehaved with her on the film set after using drugs. Vincy had filed a complaint against him to the film chamber and AMMA. Shine misbehaved with her on the film set of Soothravakyam. The chamber monitoring committee will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to consider Vincy’s complaint.
Actors Padmapriya, Vinu Mohan, director Anjali Menon and others came forward praising Vincy's courage. Vinu Mohan said that although Vincy is not a part of AMMA, they have expressed their support for the actress and had asked her to file a complaint the other day.
'I was not shocked when I heard it. Can people working in an institution use drugs and go? Similarly, why is there no law in films. The director and producer should prevent the use of drugs by giving strict instructions on the sets. They think that they can do anything on the sets,’ said Anjali Menon.
‘It is a blessing that people like Vincy have come and spoken today. A film set is also a workplace. Like other sectors, discipline is needed here too. Many including the government should intervene and ensure safety,’ said Padmapriya.
