THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Police have subjected 2,134 individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking to inspection. A total of 118 cases were registered for possession of various banned narcotic substances, and 123 individuals were arrested. Police seized dangerous drugs, including MDMA (0.005 kg), cannabis (0.358 kg), and 82 cannabis-laced beedis.

The action was part of a statewide special drive under ‘Operation D-Hunt’. The operation, launched on April 16, 2025, aims to identify and take strict legal action against those involved in the storage and distribution of illegal narcotic substances. To support this effort, the police have set up a 24x7 Anti-Narcotics Control Room (Phone: 9497927797) to receive drug-related information from the public. All information shared through this helpline will be kept confidential.

As part of strengthening the anti-drug campaign, an Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell and NDPS Coordination Cell are functioning at the state level under the direct supervision of the ADGP, Law and Order. Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cells are also operational at the range level to intensify surveillance and enforcement.
