Will not speak to media until candidate is announced: PV Anvar

NILAMBUR: PV Anvar said that he will not speak to the media until the UDF candidate for the Nilambur constituency in the by-election is announced. PV Anvar announced this through a Facebook post. Anvar's decision comes amid confusion over who the UDF candidate will be in Nilambur. Aryadan Shoukath and VS Joy are in the fray for candidature in the constituency.

PV Anvar had informed the Congress leadership that he would offer support only if Joy is made the candidate in Nilambur. Anvar had also said that if Joy contests, he will win with a good majority. Anvar had also directly informed these matters to Congress leader AP Anilkumar, who is in charge of the elections. Anvar had requested that Aryadan Shoukath not be fielded in Nilambur.

Now, as the by-election is approaching, Shoukath is in the limelight, claiming to be the candidate, but Congress is aware that disappointing Anvar will affect the party's chances of victory. Along with this, Anwar has also requested in a discussion with the Congress leadership that the Trinamool Congress's entry into Kerala be expedited.
