KOCHI: Minister Saji Cherian said that the revelation of actress Vincy Aloshious has been taken very seriously. He told the media that there would be an investigation and strong action on the actress's complaint and that he has discussed the issue with the Excise Minister.
"Drug abuse in the film industry has been noticed before, but no one had dared to speak out about it. A policy will be introduced to completely eliminate drug abuse in the film industry. The recommendations of the Hema Committee will be implemented. The government will not compromise on violence against women. Action will be taken. Inspections are being carried out on shooting sets. Excise and police are strongly intervening in the matter," Saji Cherian clarified.
Vincy Aloshious filed a complaint against Shine to the Actors' Association and the Film Chamber following his misbehaviour during the shooting of the film Soothravakyam, which was shot last November. Vincy had said in an Instagram video that he would no longer act with drug users and that he had a bad experience with an actor on the set of the film. The name of the actor and the name of the film were not revealed at the time. Later, the complaint filed by Vincy came to light and it was revealed that the actor was Shine Tom Chacko.
