PATHANAMTHITTA: A young man was burned to death after a house caught fire in Konni, Pathanamthitta. The deceased has been identified as Manoj (35), a resident of Ilakollur. The incident took place late tonight at a house in Ilakollur Laksham Veedu Colony belonging to Vanaja. Manoj was her son, and all three family members—Vanaja, her husband, and Manoj—were present in the house at the time of the fire.

Police suspect that Manoj may have set the house on fire himself while under the influence of alcohol. According to officials, Manoj was known for causing disturbances at home while intoxicated. There were reportedly arguments in the house earlier in the evening, which may have led to the fire.

Initially, it was believed that all the residents had escaped safely, but once the fire and police departments extinguished the flames, Manoj was found dead, charred inside the house. Vanaja and her husband managed to escape the blaze, as they had moved away from the house in time. Police have stated that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
