KOCHI: Actor Shine Tom Chacko, who is now on bail in the drug use case, need not appear before police on Monday. The investigation team believes that the actor should be called for questioning only after a detailed examination of the statement given during the previous day's interrogation.

The police decided not to rush into the second round of questioning based on the assessment that Shine Tom's account and phone information should be checked thorough;y and and a little more caution would be ideal.

The city police commissioner, currently on leave, will hold a meeting tomorrow to assess the progress made so far. A decision on when to question Shine will be made after the meeting. Meanwhile, Shine Tom Chacko is preparing to approach the court against the police action in registering the FIR in the drug case. The actor has approached lawyers seeking the possibility of quashing the FIR.

It is reported that legal action may be initiated only after the results of the scientific examination of the body fluids are out. If the results are in favour of the actor, the decision will be made to approach the High Court with the argument that the police have filed a false case.

Meanwhile, Shine Tom has stated to the police that drug use is widespread in the Malayalam film industry. The actor admitted that even reputed actors are frequent users of the banned materials.
