IB officer's death: Sukant Suresh dismissed from service by Intelligence Bureau

THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: Strict action was initiated against Sukant Suresh in the suicide of an IB officer in Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram. As per the latest report, Sukant has been dismissed from the Intelligence Bureau.

The police informed the Intelligence Bureau about Sukant being made an accused in the case. The IB took action after examining the details of the case.

Since the death of the IB officer, Sukant and his family have been evading police and are still at large. The police had searched Sukant's house the previous day and entered by breaking the lock after arriving with a court order. The search, which began yesterday afternoon, lasted for about two and a half hours. The police took away a hard disk and two bank passbooks.

A three-member team led by SI Balu of Thiruvananthapuram Pettah Station, Civil Police Officer Ansar, and SCP Sabeesh of Changaramkulam Station inspected in the presence of Ward Member E.S. Sukumaran.

Last month, a woman IB officer jumped in front of a train and ended her life in Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram. The woman IB officer was found to be in a relationship with Sukant and even talked with him over the phone before ending her life. It was found that the IB officer was shattered over Sukant’s decision to walk out of the relationship.

The police acquired the WhatsApp chat between the two and even found that the victim had an abortion at a city hospital.
