No trace of two elderly sisters on temple visit, leave without taking mobile phone

PALAKKAD: There is no trace of two elderly sisters, who were on a temple visit. The two have been identified as Ammini (76) and Shantha (68), natives of Chalissery in Palakkad. They left home at around 9 am on Sunday morning to Guruvayur.


They stay together and regularly go to Guruvayur and return by evening. However, when they did not return on Sunday, called them on the phone. Only then the family realized that they had not taken their mobile phones.


An investigation conducted based on CCTV found that Ammini and Shantha had reached Palakkad KSRTC stand in the evening. Reports said they had asked some if there was a bus from here to Tirupati. The two have money for their requirements.


Meantime, 15-year-old boys have gone missing from Ponnani, Malappuram. They went missing on Sunday. Shanif, Ramnas and Kunjumon are the three missing. They are 10th class students. All three study in separate schools and are childhood friends.


One of them had told his paternal grandmother that he wants to go to Bengaluru and spend the vacation. The three have no mobile phones. Their parents said that they have not taken any money from the house. The police have intensified the investigation into the incident.
