PATHANAMTHITTA: The CPM has removed a Thiruvalla area committee office employee from her duties after she filed a caste abuse complaint against a senior party leader. Ramya, who was serving as the social media coordinator for the area committee, was reportedly informed by the area secretary that she would no longer be continuing in her role. The decision came shortly after her return from a Balasangham camp.

Ramya had filed a complaint alleging that a leader of the Mahila Association had insulted her using caste-based slurs. As the complaint sparked significant controversy within the party, the area committee convened a meeting at the end of last month to discuss the matter. An attempt was made to reach a compromise during the meeting. However, after the meeting, the woman declared her intent to raise the complaint to the state secretary, which led to further uproar. According to Ramya's complaint, the woman leader made casteist remarks against her during a meeting at the area committee office.
