SRINAGAR: The people in Kashmiri condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The shutdown observed by traders in Jammu and Kashmir is complete. The people observed a shutdown against the terrorist attack. People from all walks of life supported the bandh.
‘Tourists are the main source of income for Jammu and Kashmir. We cannot pretend not to see the attack against them. Allah is with everyone. Whether Hindu or Muslim, Allah does not discriminate. We need peace in this country,' said local residents. Rallies are being held in various parts of Jammu against the terrorist attack.
People took to the streets with placards. People are also reaching the police headquarters in Srinagar to protest. People demand that the authorities take strong action to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir. All business establishments in Srinagar are closed today.
The militants opened fire at tourists in Pahalgam at 3 pm on Tuesday. The attack claimed the lives 29 innocent people. The attack was towards a group of trekkers who had come to the famous tourist destination of Baisaran, a hill station in the Pahalgam region of Anantnag, which is accessible only by foot and horse. The Resistance Front, a local branch of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
