KOCHI: There are serious findings against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan in the charge sheet filed by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in the monthly payoff case. The charge sheet says that Veena is the mastermind of the CMRL-Exalogic monthly payoff case. The charge sheet also mentioned that the growth of Exalogic company was dipping after it was started.

Veena's Exalogic company had a liability of Rs 66 lakh per year. The company's main income was later garnered after the deal with CMRL. Transactions were made with CMRL between 2017 and 2019. Veena started getting Rs 5 lakh monthly from CMRL and the company also received Rs three lakh monthly. The SFIO filed the chargesheet in the Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court.

The SFIO investigation found that Veena's company Exalogic received Rs 2.70 crore from CMRL without providing any services. The charge sheet said that prima facie charges will be filed against Veena and others. There are 13 accused in the case including Veena and CMRL managing director Sasidharan Kartha. They have been imposed with charges that can carry a prison sentence of up to ten years.

The SFIO investigation has also uncovered irregularities in CMRL's financial transactions. It has been found that the company transferred approximately Rs 182 crore to political leaders, including some others. The investigation has also found that Kartha's son-in-law Anil Anandapanikkar received Rs 13 crore as commission.
