THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed commencing work to bring back 575 Malayalees, who are still in Kashmir. The Malayalees have decided to cut short their vacation in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
The Chief Minister also announced that facilities have been made available for those in Kashmir who need assistance and those seeking information about their relatives. The Chief Minister informed that the government received information that 575 people are in Kashmir through 49 registrations.
He said that steps have been taken to provide travel assistance, medical assistance, and food to those in need. Arrangements have also been made to assist those arriving in Delhi. The chief minister also clarified providing ticket booking facilities for people trapped in the valley.
“There should be no more bloodshed in the heaven that is Kashmir. The fact that a Malayali was among those killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam doubles the grief for the state. This is an inhumane attack that deserves no mercy. Every one of us must stand united against such attacks and the hate propaganda that fuels them,” said the Chief Minister.
