PATHANAMTHITTA: Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for sexually abusing his three sisters. The girls, aged 9, 12, and 13, who reside in a government-run children's shelter (Balikasadanam), were reportedly abused during their summer vacation last year when they had returned home.
The incident came to light during a counselling session at the shelter, where the eldest of the three disclosed the abuse. Following this, the shelter authorities informed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), which then alerted the police.
The boy was taken into custody on Friday morning. Police said that the boy has confessed to the crime during interrogation. The abuse reportedly took place when the girls' mother was not at home. After recording his arrest, the 17-year-old was shifted to the juvenile home.
