Chennai native drowns in Vamanapuram river; deceased a student at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology

VENJARAMOODU: An IIST student who went for a bath in the Vamanapuram river drowned. The deceased is Mohan Raj Subramanian, a Chennai native and an MTech student at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology.
The incident took place near the Vithura Thavakkal waterfalls in the Vamanapuram river. Mohan Raj slipped from a rock here and was swept away by the current.

The student who fell into the river and was swept away had gone missing. The body was found after an hour-long search by the fire department and locals. Mohan Raj had gone for a bath around 8 am on Saturday. There was heavy rain in the area the previous evening. The water level in the river had increased due to this. This is what caused the accident today.
