'Met through dating app.....'; Police official arrested for sexually assaulting doctor in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Police officer in the capital city was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman doctor under the pretext of love. Vijay Yashodharan (36), a native of Vellalloor, Kilimanoor, was arrested by Thampanoor police.

This man, a police officer in the Indian Reserve Battalion, tricked a doctor from Ernakulam, whom he met through a dating app, into booking a lodge where he sexually assaulted her. The accused lured the doctor after concealing the fact that he was a married man and a father. The assault took place in a lodge in Thampanoor.

Following a complaint from a doctor, the accused was arrested under the leadership of Thampanoor CI V.M. Sreekumar. The accused was produced in court and remanded.
