LUCKNOW: A sedition case has been registered against a Bhojpuri singer for sharing a video on social media criticizing the Modi government in the Pahalgam terror attack. The case has been registered against Neha Singh Rathore of Hazratganj in Lucknow. The singer alleged in the video that the incident claiming the lives of 26 tourists was due to the lapses of intelligence and security officials.
Narendra Modi had garnered votes pointing the deaths of 40 CRPF jawans in Pulwama in 2019. Modi will gain votes from Bihar citing the Pahalgam terror attack, criticised Neha. 'What should I ask the government about? Education and health are no longer relevant in India. There is a lot of Hindu-Muslim conflict in the country. Many people are losing their lives,' Neha said in the video.
The FIR was registered after this video was widely circulated in groups of Pakistani journalists. Neha had previously shared several controversial posts on social media. The FIR also stated that the Pakistani media was using the anti-national statements made by Neha Singh against India.
In 2023, Neha had sung a song criticizing the Uttar Pradesh government over the death of a mother and daughter in connection with an eviction in Dehat, Kanpur. The police had also sent a notice against this.
