THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have been investigating the source of fake bomb threats received in various parts of the state for the past three days. Meanwhile, the police have identified a native of Andhra Pradesh is behind the fake bomb threats in Thampanoor railway station and Nedumbassery airport in February. The police said the Telangana police and intelligence have confirmed that the fake message was sent by Nidheesh of Warangal.

In February, a threat message was received on the police' Facebook messenger. The message was that there would be a blast at Thampanoor railway station and Nedumbassery airport within 32 hours. The police and the RPF jointly searched the railway station area but found nothing. After the cyber cell checked, it was found that the message was from Secunderabad, and a special team was entrusted for the investigation.

It is suspected that the Facebook account belonged to an accountant of an IT company. A laptop and mobile phone were seized from his house. However, the accountant denied the charges. He also expressed suspicion that someone might have hacked his account. The police found that the IP address belonged to the accountant and that multiple email IDs had been created using his mobile phone number.

The police found that the threat message was sent via a Facebook account created by hacking the email. His wife is an employee of a travel agency. For the agency's needs, her and her husband's phone number and email IDs were shared and advertised to many people. This is how Nidheesh hacked and created a fake Facebook account. Police said that Nidheesh is also a suspect in the Kannur bomb threat case and that he has no connection with other bomb threats in Kerala.
