THRISSUR: The police are all set to investigate the role of Sangeeth, son of Sheela Sunny, owner of a beauty parlour in Chalakudy, in the false drug case against her. He was summoned twice but failed to appear. The investigating team had yesterday arraigned Sheela’s daughter-in-law’s sister Livia Jose in the case.

Narayanadas, arrested the other day had revealed that it was Livia Jose who kept the fake LSD stamp in her scooter. She was arraigned soon after that. The report of the police submitted in the court has mentioned Livia’s name. However, she has fled abroad. The police are trying to bring her back.

Narayanadas, the main accused in the case, was taken into custody on Monday from Bengaluru by a police team led by Kodungallur DySP. The excise team arrested Sheela Sunny on February 27, 2023, for possession of narcotics. The arrest was based on information received through an internet call. However, it was later confirmed in a scientific examination that fake LSD stamps were seized. Sheela spent 72 days in jail for a crime she has not committed.

It was found that the one who gave false information to the excise was Narayanadas of Tripunithura Eroor, friend of Sheela’s daughter-in-law's sister. The excise crime branch had made Narayanadas an accused in the case at that time. Meanwhile, the high court directed that the case be handed over to the police and the team led by the Kodungallur DySP started the investigation.

There was an altercation between the families of Sheela Sunny and her daughter-in-law for pledging her gold. When Sheela Sunny tried to go to Italy to pay off her debts, her daughter-in-law's family complained that she was leaving without taking a decision on the gold. The police also got information that the reason for the feud was Livia's fear that she would lose the property she also inherited. The drug case was planned and executed to stop Sheela from going abroad.
