NEW DELHI: Security forces have recovered a huge cache of arms from the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar, Punjab. The officials’ said cache was recovered during a joint search operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in Bharopal, Amritsar, Wednesday evening. Two hand grenades, three rifles, six magazines and 50 rounds of ammunition were seized.

A terror attack was foiled in a joint search operation with Punjab Police, said BSF officials. This is one of the major operations to recover arms from the international border in the past week. Security forces have stepped up security along the borders after 26 lives were lost in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

A cache of arms was also recovered during a joint search operation by the BSF and Punjab Police in Sahowal village in Amritsar last month. 450 kilograms of explosives, five grenades, four guns, 220 rounds of ammunition, two remote controllers, and a battery charger were seized that day.
