Bajrang Dal activist hacked to death in Mangaluru; police suspect political rivalry as motive

MANGALURU: In a shocking incident, a Bajrang Dal activist was hacked to death by a group in Mangaluru city. The deceased has been identified as Suhas Shetty. The incident took place on Thursday evening at Kinnipadavu, Bajpe. A group of youths followed Suhas Shetty and hacked him to death. Reports say that the murder was captured on CCTV footage.

Police said that the preliminary conclusion suggests political rivalry as the motive behind the murder.

Suhas Shetty was the main accused in the Surathkal Fazil murder case. Fazil was killed soon after the murder of Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru. Following Suhas Shetty’s murder, police security has been tightened across Mangaluru city.
