Married on May 1; newlywed bride files complaint after first night

KANNUR: A complaint has been filed that the jewellery worn by a newlywed bride on her wedding day was stolen on the first night. Jewellery worth 30 sovereigns was stolen from Kollam native RS Sudhi, wife of AK Arjun of Paliyeri, Karivellur, Kannur. The couple got married on May 1.

After the wedding, the jewellery was kept in a cupboard in the upstairs bedroom of Arjun's house. The jewellery is worth more than Rs 20 lakh. The woman has filed a complaint with the police that the jewellery was missing when she checked it last night. The complaint states that the jewellery was stolen between 6 pm on May 1 and 9 pm on May 2. Payyannur police have registered a case on the complaint and started an investigation.
