PATHANAMTHITTA: Student arrested for impersonation attempt in NEET exam. The incident took place at the Thykkavu VHSS exam centre in Pathanamthitta this afternoon. The student appeared for the exam with a fake hall ticket. The fake hall ticket was made in the name of another student from Thiruvananthapuram. The exam centre authorities, who discovered the fraud during the hall ticket inspection, immediately informed the police. The Pathanamthitta police then arrived and took the student into custody.
The main part of the hall ticket had the name of the student currently in custody. However, the name of another student from Thiruvananthapuram was on the declaration part, which led to suspicion. The student was allowed to write the exam on the suspicion of a printing error. Subsequently, this information was reported to the Thiruvananthapuram office. However, the accused student was stopped from writing the exam after receiving information that a student with the name mentioned in the declaration part was writing the exam in Thiruvananthapuram. Pathanamthitta police arrived and took the student into custody. The student is being questioned.
It is reported that crucial information has emerged during the interrogation. The student has stated that the fake hall ticket was given by an employee of the Akshaya Centre in Neyyattinkara. The police will question the Akshaya Centre employee in the incident.
