Minister V Sivankutty's office filed a complaint with the DGP after a fake website appeared in the name of the Department of Public Education. The fake website was created in the name of the Board of Public Examinations.

Based on this, the minister's office wrote a letter to the DGP to investigate and take necessary legal action. The fake website is operating in the name of Kerala Board of Public Examinations, which conducts SSLC exams in the state. It was found that the website address was created in Uttar Pradesh. The fake website is already ahead in SEO, appearing first on Google search even before the original site. Former Education Minister C. Ravindranath’s image is used in it.

The site publishes exam dates while fake certificates are actively shown. Students were likely to use this site and enter their details, mistakenly thinking it for the original website. In the last three years, about ten such fake certificates have been brought to the attention of the Department of Public Education. With the crime going unabated, the education department has decided to act.
