KOCHI: The Union Law Ministry appointed Advocate O.M. Shalina as the Deputy Solicitor General of the Kerala High Court. The Deputy Solicitor General represents the Central Government in the High Court. This is the first time a woman has been appointed to this post.
Shalina, the daughter of O.K. Mukundan and Savitri of Shoranur, is the wife of BJP state general secretary M.T. Ramesh. Shalina graduated in Commerce from Palakkad Government Victoria College and in Law from Ernakulam Law College, and enrolled as an advocate in 1999.
Shalina became a Central Government Advocate in the High Court in 2015. She also worked as the Central Government's Senior Standing Counsel in the Central Administrative Tribunal.
