KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said there has been a significant increase in the state's domestic revenue in the last three years. Domestic revenue increased from Rs 5.6 lakh crore to Rs 13.11 lakh crore.
There was a 72.84% increase in own revenue. Own tax revenue increased from Rs 47,000 crore to Rs 81,000 crore. Total revenue increased from Rs 55,000 crore to Rs 1.04 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a district-level review meeting in Kochi as part of the government's fourth-anniversary celebrations.
“The gap between the state's public debt and domestic product is narrowing. The central government has a major role in increasing state spending. Last financial year, Kerala had to bear 70% of the cost of centrally sponsored schemes. It is estimated that this will increase to 75% in the current financial year. ” said CM Pinarayi.
Inaugurating the LDF rally organized at the Kaloor Stadium premises, the Chief Minister said that the LDF election slogan of ending Kerala’s misfortunes has become a reality.
“What would have happened if the UDF had continued in 2016? In the last nine years, Kerala has gone through unprecedented crises, from Okhi to Covid. The central government, which was supposed to help backed off.”
CPI District Secretary K.N. Dinakaran presided over the meeting. Ministers P. Rajeev, G.R. Anil and others attended.
