Reshuffle in police dept: Manoj Abraham made vigilance director, M R Ajith Kumar is excise commissioner

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Another reshuffle in the top posts of the police department. The major change is that former fire force chief Manoj Abraham has been made vigilance director and the present vigilance director Yogesh Gupta has been made fire force chief. M R Ajith Kumar, Battalion ADGP, has been appointed excise commissioner. Jail chief Balram Kumar Upadhyay has been appointed director of Kerala Police Academy. Mahipal Yadav will be the chief of crime branch.


M R Ajith Kumar, who is under the shadow of allegations of amassing wealth, messing up Thrissur Pooram and meeting with RSS leaders, has been appointed to a strategic post again. Ajith Kumar, who is in service till 2028, has also been included in the list of possible candidates to become the new police chief.


The post of jail chief has been given to an IG-rank officer. I G Sethuraman will be the jail chief. P Prakash, who was IG of the Crime Branch, has been given the coastal area charge. A Akbar from the crime branch has been appointed to Intelligence. Sparjan Kumar will be the IG of the crime branch. There was a major reshuffle in the IAS hierarchy the other day.
